In addition, he is the Scottish representative at the annual ICES North Atlantic Salmon Working Group and oversees the collection and collation of the annual Scottish salmon and sea trout catch statistics. His research interests include investigations into the marine phase of the salmon's life cycle and the development of models to interpret catches as indicators of salmon abundance.
