As a member of staff of the Freshwater Fisheries Laboratory, Andy has a national remit to investigate the status of sea trout/brown trout stocks in Scotland on behalf of SOAEFD. He was a member of the West Highland Sea Trout and Salmon Group and has had a close involvement with the development of the West Coast Fishery Trusts. In addition to studies on sea trout, he has wide experience of Scottish freshwater fisheries and handles most of the ad-hoc fishery-related enquiries received by the Laboratory. He is a keen angler and a former national flyfishing champion.
