The SFCC was established in 1997 as an association of Fisheries Trusts, Scottish Government, SEPA, SNH and others interested in evidence based management of freshwater fish and fisheries in Scotland.
In 2017 SFCC became a committee of Fisheries Management Scotland, while maintaining a distinct membership and funding stream.
SFCC Aims:
1. Develop sampling protocols
2. Co-ordinate data storage
3. Facilitate data sharing
4. Provide training courses
5. Promote discussion of evidence based fisheries management
6. Facilitate cross-Scotland projects
